Awakening to
the New Year 2021:
Navigating Chaos
with Conscious Intention

Live Online Course

January 12th, 2021 - February 7th, 2021

I felt totally overwhelmed this year.
How can I access peace and joy in 2021?

Whether we were stuck inside and riddled with anxiety, organizing for social justice, or grieving the loss of a loved one, we all faced great challenge in 2020. As our karmic, systemic crises continue to intensify, many of us feel overwhelmed with anger, fear, agitation, despair, paralysis, exhaustion, loneliness… the list goes on and on.

With the turning of the calendar year, we might be tempted to improve ourselves and our life situation, by working harder to become more comfortable and secure amidst the global chaos, or more worthy of love and belonging. Yet, these efforts can be exhausting, and do not lead to true or lasting satisfaction.

The good news? All of this pain and discomfort make for the most fertile ground for spiritual growth. Through meditation practice, we can lift the veil of our delusions. Once we fully accept and embrace our reality – especially that which is frightening, uncomfortable, or painful – we can access the sense of wholeness, peace, and interconnection that is our birthright.

2021 gives us new opportunity to work towards balance, and personal and collective liberation, using the Dharma as our guide. It starts with this very breath.

This four-week course is designed for beginning and advanced meditators across the globe. Caverly will instruct us on grounding in the present moment, and forming and sticking to conscious intention in 2021 and beyond.

This was a very successful course in past years. Join us for Caverly’s fresh insights applied to this unique present moment.

Module 1: Opening to What is

In this first module, Caverly provides orientation for the course. She’ll introduce us to foundational meditation and mindfulness skills including how to:

  • Ground and center ourselves
  • Investigate what causes our suffering
  • Release our limiting stories and beliefs
  • Access joy and peace

Module 2: Shifting from Fear to Love

This module includes journaling exercise, meditations of varying lengths, and inquiry into the landscape of our minds. With compassion, we will practice:

  • Noticing our habits of self-talk
  • Releasing our attempts at control
  • Creating space for play and delight
  • Resting in our inherent wholeness

“[Sangha Live] sessions with Caverly have been incredibly valuable to me. I feel I have grown so much in my practice… we can talk to Caverly and clarify any questions, make comments, and drink in all of Caverly’s wisdom. Caverly’s rich background, insight, and compassion make these sessions the perfect accompaniment for the times we live in.”⠀⠀

Module 3: Setting Conscious Intention

In this module, we’ll set conscious intentions, rather than New Year’s resolutions or self-improvement plans. We’ll investigate moving towards our deepest heart’s desires, by:

  • Honoring our experiences of the past year
  • Understanding and clarifying our values
  • Creating helpful personal reminders
  • Cultivating a universal “yes”

Module 4: Creating a New Paradigm

In our final module, we’ll reflect on what we’ve learned so that we can apply these lessons to our daily lives. This will include:

  • Reconnecting with our deepest desires
  • Reflecting on insights gained through the course
  • Creating accountability for intentions without judgment
  • Sealing our conscious intentions for the new year
