Learn the power of grounding in times of inner or outer challenge

***Announcement***
Unfortunately we won’t be able to run this Day of Practice as planned due to limited bandwidth where Akincano is located this month. We hope to reschedule it and will announce a new date when we have it. Thanks for your understanding
🙏

The turmoil in our world and the turmoil in our minds have the same roots.

In times of inner and outer challenge, our hearts are torn in a rift between knowing of and genuine realisation.

This is a zone of tension and questioning that none of us can avoid on the path of growing and waking up. When we are in this place, we often vacillate between numbness, ourtrage, feelings of helplessness or dissociation.

Yet our hearts yearn to bridge the gap between our understanding and the incongruities that plague our choices in everyday life. How can we continue to grow, respond with heartful intelligence and reconcile the inner and the outer being? How do we find peace and agency?

In this Day of Practice with Buddhist teacher and contemplative psychotherapist Akincano M Weber, we will explore tools and teachings of Early Buddhist wisdom about the sources of genuine authority and establishing the ground (adiṭṭhāna) amidst the ‘the floods of conceiving’.

Akincano will lead us in this day of guided contemplative practice dedicated to orienting, grounding and cultivating a sense of self-determination in everyday life.

This practice will identify skilful Buddhist responses to our daily challenges. It will, beyond mere acknowledgement or simple patches, offer a vision to live a life of ‘step-by-step-practice’ (paṭipadā).

Join this *Live* 3-hour session to learn:

  • Early Buddhist teachings that shed light on fascinating aspects of what we call ‘intrinsic motivation’, ‘self-determination’ or ‘genuine authority’
  • How to disidentify with the ‘tides of conceiving’ and understand the sources of authority
  • Recognition and Orientation skills in situations of ethical conflict and challenge
  • How to establish agency in cultivating values, intentions and aspirations
  • How to use stepping stones in your contemplative practice

What is Day of Practice?

Sangha Live’s 3-hour, LIVE Day of Practice allows for you to drop in deeper, develop your meditation skills, and reset your intentions through sustained sitting.

Days of Practice include longer periods of meditation, interspersed with wise teachings, an interactive Q&A with our teacher, and more.

Replay access will be available to all registrants within 48 hours of the live session.

How is Day of Practice different from Sangha Live’s Daily/Sunday classes?

Our shorter Daily Meditation (60 mins) and Sunday Sangha (90 mins) programs emphasize dharma teachings, while our longer Days of Practice (3 hours) emphasize development of meditation practice.

Daily practice is crucial for watering seeds of mindfulness, but extended periods of deep attention such as these, away from the hustle and bustle of daily life, can be uniquely fruitful.

Cost

Day of Practice is offered on a sliding scale basis, with a suggested rate of $35. We wholeheartedly welcome all to practice with us; no one turned away for lack of funds.
