Day of Practice

Mindfulness in the Apocalypse

with Thanissara

7-10am PT / 10am-1pm ET / 3-6pm GMT / 4-7pm CET

Thanissara guides us in taking refuge in the Dharma amidst crisis

“Apocalypse” means both the end of the world as we know it and “unveiling” or “revelation.”

Mindfulness helps us see beyond the prism of reactivity and confusion and enables access to intuitive awareness crucial for setting priorities as we clarify what is truly meaningful and important to us.

In this Day of Practice, Thanissara will offer a Dharma view of our current zeitgeist with its challenges and opportunities.

Together we will deepen into practices that support ourselves, personally and collectively, to meet the most complex and overwhelming challenge humans have ever faced: the collapse of a viable ecosystem threatening all planetary life.

This *Live* session will highlight the centrality of compassionate, mindful inquiry to support and empower the reclamation of embodied presence needed for these times.

Thanissara will guide us in practices for regulating our nervous system, sustaining balance in the midst of increasing intensity and activating our highest intention.

However daunting, within this challenge, there is also potential for healing and positive change.

Mindfulness in the Apocalypse with Thanissara

Join this session to learn:

  • A simple breath practice to help regulate our nervous system
  • Mindfulness for establishing depth presence and clarifying intention
  • Compassion meditation, including the sounding of mantra, for invoking unconditional love in support of all in these times

What is Day of Practice?

Sangha Live’s 3-hour, LIVE Day of Practice allows for you to drop in deeper, develop your meditation skills, and reset your intentions through sustained sitting.

Days of Practice includes longer periods of meditation, interspersed with wise teachings, an interactive Q&A with our teacher, and more.

Replay access will be available to all registrants within 48 hours of the live session.

How is Day of Practice different from Sangha Live’s Daily/Sunday classes?

Our shorter Daily Meditation (60 mins) and Sunday Sangha (90 mins) programs emphasize dharma teachings, while our longer Days of Practice (3 hours) emphasize development of meditation practice.

Daily practice is crucial for watering seeds of mindfulness, but extended periods of deep attention such as these, away from the hustle and bustle of daily life, can be uniquely fruitful.

Cost

Day of Practice is offered on a sliding scale basis, with a suggested rate of $35. We wholeheartedly welcome all to practice with us; no one turned away for lack of funds.
