This Vulnerable Human Life: Wisdom from Death on Living Fully

Short Course

Discover what death and dying can teach us about the joy of living

Death is the secret teacher hiding in plain sight, and she helps us to understand what matters most. And the good news is that you don’t have to wait until the end of your life to realize the wisdom that death has to teach.

In this Day of Practice, Frank Ostaseski – co-founder of the first Buddhist hospice in America – shares wisdom and insights from his experience accompanying a thousand or more people through the dying process.

Frank teaches the importance of embracing our vulnerability and mortality, cultivating joy and loving awareness in the face of grief or loss, and living fully in the present moment.

We are invited to sit with death, get to know her, and let her guide us towards living a more meaningful and loving life.

Wisdom from Death on Living Fully

Join this session to discover:

  • Vulnerability opens us up to all levels of reality – less fear, more joy, peace, and love
  • Recognizing the precious and precarious nature of life helps us live fully and with integrity
  • Embracing the reality of death and its impact can lead to profound insights and a more meaningful life
  • Difficult emotions can hide wisdom, and exploring them can lead to growth and understanding
  • Grief is a normal part of life and allows for building empathetic connections with others
  • Joy is intertwined with love and can be found even in the face of suffering
  • Love and forgiveness are actions of the heart and can be cultivated through the practice of loving awareness

What is Day of Practice?

Sangha Live’s 3-hour Day of Practice allows for you to drop in deeper, develop your meditation skills, and reset your intentions through sustained sitting.

Now offered ON-DEMAND, you can join this session independently, on your own schedule, and at your ideal pace. Watch and re-watch the videos as you please.

Days of Practice include longer periods of meditation interspersed with wise teachings, a recorded Q&A from the live class, and more.

What’s Included

With the independent student in mind, previously recorded live sessions are broken down into meaningful modules. Each Day of Practice has been trimmed and consolidated into 4 to 6 videos, and every video – whether a lesson, meditation, exercise, or Q&A – includes a description, so you have total flexibility when planning your self-paced day of practice.

Cost

Day of Practice is offered on a sliding scale basis, with a suggested rate of $35. We wholeheartedly welcome all to practice with us; no one turned away for lack of funds.
