Emptiness and Form: Loosening Life’s Grip Through Meditation and Qigong

with Mimi Kuo-Deemer

7-10 am PST / 10 am-1 pm EST / 3-6 pm GMT / 4-7 pm CET

Feel the spaciousness already moving through you

The world of form is the reality most familiar to us. It holds the beauty of the world, yet it often brings messiness and problems too: we experience pain, crave physical comfort, and feel the accumulation of life’s stresses as tension and worry.

The concept of emptiness, by contrast, may seem elusive and difficult for our minds to comprehend. Yet according to the Buddha’s teachings, emptiness is the true nature of reality. When we understand this, it can transform the way that we live.

What can we learn from the teachings on form and emptiness? And how can they help us navigate the world with greater insight, ease, and freedom?

These are the questions we’ll explore together in a Day of Practice with Mimi Kuo-Deemer. Through talks, reflections, contemplations, and the embodied practices of qigong and mindful breathing, Mimi guides us into an integrated day of shared movement, insight and experience.

Day of Practice - Mimi Kuo-Deemer - Dec 05, 2026

Join this live 3-hour session with Mimi to receive:

  • A set of Primordial Qigong forms to carry into your daily life, with Mimi’s feedback as you learn them.
  • The Buddha’s teachings on form and emptiness, experienced through movement and breath as well as reflection.
  • Fresh insight into the pain, stress, and worry of the world of form, and a way of meeting them with more lightness and ease.

Please note: All levels are welcome, and no prior experience of qigong is necessary.

What is Day of Practice?

Sangha Live’s 3-hour, LIVE Day of Practice allows for you to drop in deeper, develop your meditation skills, and reset your intentions through sustained sitting.

Days of Practice includes longer periods of meditation, interspersed with wise teachings, an interactive Q&A with our teacher, and more.

Replay access will be available to all registrants within 48 hours of the live session.

How is Day of Practice different from Sangha Live’s Daily/Sunday classes?

Our shorter Daily Meditation (60 mins) and Sunday Sangha (90 mins) programs emphasize dharma teachings, while our longer Days of Practice (3 hours) emphasize development of meditation practice.

Daily practice is crucial for watering seeds of mindfulness, but extended periods of deep attention such as these, away from the hustle and bustle of daily life, can be uniquely fruitful.

Cost

Day of Practice is offered on a sliding scale basis, with a suggested rate of $35. We wholeheartedly welcome all to practice with us; no one turned away for lack of funds.
