Coming Home: Cultivating Receptive Awareness

with Peace Twesigye

7-10 am PST / 10 am-1 pm EST / 3-6 pm GMT / 4-7 pm CET

Slow down enough to receive what's happening, and meet it with care

We are always receiving more than we notice. Sensations, feelings, thoughts, intentions, sounds, and subtle movements of body and mind are continuously arising.

What might it mean to come home to our experience – to become more available to what is actually happening, within ourselves, in relationship, and in the world around us?

This question is at the heart of this Day of Practice with Insight Dialogue teacher Peace Twesigye.

Coming home is not a particular state we have to achieve, nor is it a way of escaping experience. We come home to experience so that we can become more intimate with it, and from that intimacy, become better able to meet whatever happens with wisdom, compassion, and joy. Coming home is the process of becoming available to life more fully.

Through meditation, movement, and relational practice, Peace will guide us in exploring how receptive awareness, mindfulness, and wise attention can help us know experience more clearly, discern what is skillful, and respond with greater care and wisdom.

Day of Practice - Peace Twesigye - Nov 21, 2026

In this live 3-hour session with Peace, you will:

  • Cultivate the capacity to recognize sensations, feelings, thoughts, and intentions before automatically reacting
  • Develop flexible ways of practicing that honor your own natural modes of perceiving and receiving
  • Learn the practice of yoniso manasikāra (wise attention) to remain present and receive another person before rushing to interpret, fix, defend, or respond
  • Explore how receptive awareness can support compassion, non-harming, and more skillful participation in relationships and everyday life

What is Day of Practice?

Sangha Live’s 3-hour, LIVE Day of Practice allows for you to drop in deeper, develop your meditation skills, and reset your intentions through sustained sitting.

Days of Practice includes longer periods of meditation, interspersed with wise teachings, an interactive Q&A with our teacher, and more.

Replay access will be available to all registrants within 48 hours of the live session.

How is Day of Practice different from Sangha Live’s Daily/Sunday classes?

Our shorter Daily Meditation (60 mins) and Sunday Sangha (90 mins) programs emphasize dharma teachings, while our longer Days of Practice (3 hours) emphasize development of meditation practice.

Daily practice is crucial for watering seeds of mindfulness, but extended periods of deep attention such as these, away from the hustle and bustle of daily life, can be uniquely fruitful.

Cost

Day of Practice is offered on a sliding scale basis, with a suggested rate of $35. We wholeheartedly welcome all to practice with us; no one turned away for lack of funds.
