The Beauty of Being

With Leela Sarti recorded on May 27, 2018.

Leela says: “Over the years my interest in awakening has be reformulated as how to be a real human being. In this session I invite you to explore, with me, the possibility of being grounded in the natural goodness of being. We will inquire how to live a full life from the ground of presence, and being yourself in peace with others.

A human life infused with natural beauty, a fulfilling life, means to develop a taste for certain values; a taste for truth, dignity, depth and simply being. These qualities are present all the time, you don’t have to achieve them, you just need to appreciate them and orient yourself towards them so that you allow yourself the time and opportunity for them to emerge.”

The poem Leela reads out is “Having loved enough” by Mark Nepo.

  • Befriending the emotions.

So often we struggle because we’re resisting, fixing, changing, or even “transcending” our experiences. What shifts when instead of pushing our emotions away, we invite them closer in? What changes when we learn to relate to our emotions like a welcoming friend? And, what changes when we are able to access the place in which…

  • Nathan Glyde

Daily Meditation Recordings, with Nathan Glyde – Week of March 21, 2022

This week’s topic is: Harmonising Our Life. The Buddha’s wisdom highlights how we often live entangled in stress and distress. The earliest mentions of this disharmonious state called it being in an argument with life. Dharma teachings invite us away from habitual rigidity and reactivity into a responsive and harmonising release. This week we will uncover deeper and more creative ways of attuning to life that support inner and outer freedom and well-being.

This week’s theme is: From Suffering To Love

Suffering is a messenger inviting us to include more of this moment with love. Rather than fussing, numbing and fixing, we pause in the midst of reactivity to breathe, come into the body, unhook from stories and feel emotions with love. This allows us to respond to life from love. Suffering returns us to love by showing us what we leave out of its limitless embrace.

Daily Meditation Recordings, with Wiebke Pausch – Week of December 4, 2023

This week’s topic is “Exploring the Art of Radical Rest”. Conditioned and surrounded by a restless culture, we are constantly driven towards self-optimisation and self-improvement. Our practice is often affected by the striving and the effort to become a perfect meditator. We will explore together how to rest in the midst of all that is unfinished and imperfect. When we allow ourselves to rest deeply, experience can unfold naturally and we come into contact with the very essence of being alive.

Choices – The Ones that Matter and the Ones that Don’t

How many choices will you make today? Which ones are likely to lead to happiness and which to suffering? Often we have many more options than we think we do. The Buddha’s teachings offer clear guidance on how to make choices that help us develop our habits, our character, and our karma in a way…

This week’s theme is: Equanimity: An Unshakable Heart

Equanimity is the unshakability of the heart in the face of all conditions and experiences. It embodies depth and spaciousness, fearlessness, responsiveness and natural compassion, rooted in virtue and insight. It is a natural capacity of the human heart, a home that is always there for us to return to. In this week of practice, we will nurture the conditions that allow equanimity to arise and mature. Supported by practice, community, and teachings from the Buddhist tradition, we will meditate to cultivate kindness and insight.
