Daily Meditation Recordings, with Ulla Koenig – Week of 14 October, 2024

Ulla Koenig

We’re fortunate that Ulla Koenig has generously offered to lead our daily meditation sessions for Europe and the UK.

This week’s topic is “Speaking with Wisdom”.

Communication is essential for us humans – we create relationships, share stories, remember the past and dream the future through language. Equally, communication can create misunderstandings, fuel conflict and division. In times of deepening polarization we might all benefit from tools which help us to create understanding and support community building. According to the Buddha, one eighth of our practice should be dedicated to such a training of skillful communication. This week we’ll pick up on this invitation and explore perspectives and tools which help us to negotiate needs, boundaries, and views and de-escalate conflict.

Cultivating Joy and Responsibility in Extraordinary Times

The Coronavirus has given us the most explicit indication of interconnection in recent history. In this session, we’ll explore the traditional Buddhist teachings on the “near” and “far” enemies of equanimity-how the near enemies of indifference and…

In this week of Daily Meditations, you are invited to join Miles in an exploration into the human experience of fear, and how it arises in your life, relationships, and practice. You will learn how to work with fear by cultivating courage and surrender, the core qualities of the Spiritual Warrior.

  • Developing the Power of Heart and Mind

Power matters when free from any corruption of mind, gross or subtle. We need to develop our power rather than feel powerless, indecisive or exploitive. Power emerges from unification of our whole being, focussing on a priority and sometimes engaging in a level of boldness. The Buddha referred to four areas to develop inner power…
