Your mind can be a playground, or a prison.
As Buddha reminds us in the first lines of the Dhammapada, our mind-state directly determines our experience of the world, and this Day of Practice will be all about meeting our minds, understanding how they shape our beliefs and behaviours, and looking at how to cultivate ‘a beautiful mind’.
Looking beyond the spiritual clichés about creating your own reality, this day together led by Sangha Live founding teacher Martin Aylward will be something of a magical mystery tour through reality.
We’ll pass by Buddhist ideas of Chittamatra (Mind-only), and the projections of Scientific materialism, looking at both extremes (that things exist, and that things don’t exist!)
We’ll explore what Martin calls the ‘Chittasphere’ as the location of all experience. We’ll dissolve inner and outer; we’ll see if we can bend reality a little; and we’ll learn about mind, world and reality along the way.
