Dharma, Sex, Intimacy and Covid

With Martin Aylward recorded on September 6, 2020.

Found our teachings useful? Help us continue our work and support your teachers with a donation. Here’s how.

We are more physically isolated during these days of Covid. Less physical contact, less access even to each others smiles beneath the masks we wear to care for each others’ health. Contact and intimacy are deeply important to humans, and in this session Sangha Live founding and guiding teacher Martin Aylward explores different forms of intimacy, offering resources for how we can best take care of our bodies, minds, hearts and of each other during these times.

The end of fear: conscious living, conscious dying.

Until we are free there is a fundamental fear of the spaciousness that is our true nature. Can we become intimately familiar with the urge to run away from the love, the spaciousness, that is the essence of this moment? All fear is fear of death, fear based on our identification only with that which…

  • Developing the Power of Heart and Mind

Power matters when free from any corruption of mind, gross or subtle. We need to develop our power rather than feel powerless, indecisive or exploitive. Power emerges from unification of our whole being, focussing on a priority and sometimes engaging in a level of boldness. The Buddha referred to four areas to develop inner power…

Daily Meditation Recordings, with Miles Kessler – Week of 19 January, 2026

This week’s theme is: The Seven Stages of Purification in Insight Meditation

The Seven Stages of Purification in Insight Meditation is a 5-day exploration of how insight naturally unfolds through practice, as described in the classical Theravāda map of purification. Each day will combine a short teaching with guided meditation, helping practitioners-whether new or experienced-recognize how challenge, insight, clarity, and release arise as part of a single, coherent developmental process. Rather than presenting the stages as goals to attain, this series offers them as an orienting framework: a way to understand what is already happening in your practice, normalize both ease and challenge, and cultivate confidence, patience, and continuity on the path of awakening.

Our Dharma Library thrives through collective generosity. Your donation helps sustain this offering for our entire community.
