Nothing to Protect, Nothing to Prove, Nothing to Possess

With Vince Cullen recorded on September 13, 2026.

We are biologically wired to protect, promote, and satisfy a self that is always changing – a reflex that can keep us gripping the hot coal of resentment while waiting for the world to apologise. We’ll explore how equanimity, resilience, and relinquishment loosen that grip, and how the simple declaration “You have nothing to fear from me” becomes a daily practice of everyday nirvana.

Inspirational quote:
“Most forget that we are all bound to die. Those who remember lay down their quarrels.”
– Gotama, Dhammapada verse 6 (trans. Bhikkhu Sujato)

Daily Meditation Recordings, with Nathan Glyde – Week of May 23, 2022

This week’s topic is An Enigma Inside A Mystery. We typically freeze in amazement or feverishly search for causes when we suffer dukkha (life’s tension). We’ve probably all experienced how these reactions exacerbate the problem. The Buddha taught that dukkha is a puzzle that can be solved: it doesn’t have to be a mystery. We can learn the resolution that brings us from bewilderment to marvellous release by paying quiet attention to the pattern of the difficulty.

The practice of pleasure and delight (or the spiritual art of having fun).

Dharma teachings importantly emphasise suffering, compassion, renunciation, desire, non-reactivity, peacefulness. All these are potent themes, yet ones which can make our practice feel overly heavy, unnecessarily serious, maybe even uptight! Dharma practice equally points us towards a playful nature, light-heartedness and ease, delight and the capacity to really enjoy life. Especially when we can get…

How To Thrive in Hard Times

  • Daily Meditation Recordings, with Ulla Koenig – Week of 02 December, 2024

We are grateful to have Ulla Koenig leading our Daily Meditation sessions this week. May these sessions support and deepen your practice.

This week’s theme is: Soothing the Grieving Heart

As human beings we have the privilege to consciously experience many beautiful and joyful things. And we are constantly in touch with the changeability of nature, relationships, our body, hearts, self and much more. Without knowing how to accommodate the naturally arising sadness, change and loss can be easily overwhelming. We will dedicate this week in the darkest time of the year, to open up a compassionate space to explore skillful grieving.

Daily Meditation Recordings, with Miles Kessler – Week of 19 January, 2026

This week’s theme is: The Seven Stages of Purification in Insight Meditation

The Seven Stages of Purification in Insight Meditation is a 5-day exploration of how insight naturally unfolds through practice, as described in the classical Theravāda map of purification. Each day will combine a short teaching with guided meditation, helping practitioners-whether new or experienced-recognize how challenge, insight, clarity, and release arise as part of a single, coherent developmental process. Rather than presenting the stages as goals to attain, this series offers them as an orienting framework: a way to understand what is already happening in your practice, normalize both ease and challenge, and cultivate confidence, patience, and continuity on the path of awakening.
