This week’s topic is “The Boundless Heart”.

“As a mother would risk her life
to protect her child, her only child,
even so should one cultivate a limitless heart
with regard to all beings.”
Karaniya Metta Sutta: translation Thānisarro Bhikku

For thousands of years, the energetics of this sutta have opened hearts, and pulled path-walkers away from apathy or heedlessness into infinitude. The devotion of a caring mother to their own child sets a high bar for dedication. Yet, these practices of the Dharma aspire to expand our hearts boundaries to include all beings without stress nor strain. Lets gently explore this profound path through sustainable resilience, and flexible ease.

Lean in softly – we’re being called forth with a whole lotta heart:
“This is to be done by one skilled in aims
who wants to break through to the state of peace…”

Daily Meditation Recordings, with Nathan Glyde – Week of September 19, 2022

This week’s topic is “Compose Yourself”. Dharma teachings appear to pull ‘us’ in two directions: on the one hand we pacify, renouncing and let go of everything, even of ourselves; on the other we energise, expanding our being into interconnection, to extend a limitless, inclusive welcome to all everywhere. But in actuality, we discover that there is no contradiction with this mismatch. For the well-composed practitioner, expanding goodwill and liberating release harmoniously and melodically intertwine.

    The Wisdom of No Escape

Our lives include facing things we didn’t choose, and often cannot change; such as getting ill or injured, or loosing something or someone that we love. Dharma teachings invite us to turn towards these, instead of turning away from them. What is the wisdom that is available to us when we meet our experience with…

Not Knowing as an Active Practice

We sometimes think of not knowing as something negative, but is it really? Truly not-knowing allows spaciousness, openness, and much greater intimacy. When we make not-knowing an intentional action, the barriers that hold us back from true intimacy begin to dissolve, offering much deeper connection with each other, and with the entire universe.
